The Information Technology Users Council (ITUC) formerly known as the Computer Users Council (CUC) is an external examinations body that deals specifically with examinations in COBOL. After having merged with the Information Technology Association (ITA) in mid 2000 the ITUC now functions within the ITA as a division.
“SETA” stands for Sector Education and Training Authority. When the SETAs had been operating for five years, in March 2005, Mr Mdladlana re-established them and recertified them. This recertification process was due to be repeated in March 2010, but the Government made a decision to change the SETA landscape. In so doing, the SETA licences were extended for an additional year, to March 2011.
Stands for “Information and Communication Technologies.” ICT refers to technologies that provide access to information through telecommunications.
