
ITUC
We are in the process of becoming registered member of Information Technology Users Council (ITUC), formerly known as Computer Users Council (CUC), which is an external examinations body that deals specifically with examinations in COBOL. ITUC is a division of the Information Technology Association (ITA) of South Africa.
The ITA works in close liaison with government, consumers and other specialist organizations. The ITA also has a longstanding commitment to human resource development within the industry. Through its close association with the MICT SETA, the ITA promotes the maintenance of high standards of IT industry technical skills in accordance with international trends.
The ITA operates through an elected Executive Council (EXCO) and three specialist sector divisions:
> Recruitment Consultancy Services Group – ITARCS
> Producer Environmental Group – ITAPEG
> Information Technology Users Council – ITUC
> ITA Transformation Committee – ITATC

SETA
The Media, Information and Communication
Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) is a skills
development institution established in terms of the Skills Development Act of
1998, to generate, facilitate and accelerate the processes of quality skills
development at all levels in the MICT sector in South Africa. The MICT sector
is made up of five subsectors that are interconnected but also quite distinct
and identifiable in their own right. These are: advertising, film and
electronic media, electronics, information technology and telecommunications.
The MICT SETA intends to engage in learning programmes and quality assurance of
education and training of implemented learning initiatives, which lead to
employment and new venture creation, while at the same time engaging in
programmes that assist in bridging the digital divide, especially in rural
areas.
We are currently in the process of applying for accreditation with MICT SETA.
